Bergamo team "Atalanta" put on a fantastic performance in the first UEFA Champions League round of 16 match and at home defeated "Valencia" club 4:1.
One of the heroes of the match was the attacking full-back Josip Iličič, who scored the second goal.
After the match, the Slovenian spoke:
"The opponents didn't allow me to strike with my left foot, so I tried with my right and everything went perfectly. In the second half, I wanted to score a goal by just poking the ball into the net, but I guess I'm not made for scoring easy goals," - said J. Iličič.
"We prepared for these matches as always and played a great first half, practically not letting the opponents do anything in the area. It's a shame that we conceded a goal at home, but we shouldn't forget that "Valencia" is a strong team that we forced to play poorly.
"Atalanta" team is no longer a surprise, we have proven many times that we never give up," - said the Slovenian.
The return leg of the round of 16 will be played on March 10th in Valencia.
