Another "Barcelona" player is facing accusations of tax evasion.
Barcelona's defender Javier Mascherano is suspected of attempting to defraud and not pay 1.5 million euros to the state.
It is alleged that the world vice-champion of 2011 and 2012 incorrectly filled out declarations, not declaring income from advertising.
"It has been revealed that Mascherano did not declare income from the 'Nike' company, which was transferred from companies registered in the USA and the island of Portugal - 578,822 euros in 2011 and 968,907 euros in 2012," - stated in a statement by the investigating authorities.
It is said that when the investigation became public, Javier decided to return all the money to the treasury and pay an additional 200,000 euros.
Neither "Barcelona" nor the football player wanted to comment on the situation.
