Although after Wednesday night's UEFA Champions League match between the London clubs "Chelsea" and "Paris Saint Germain" many expected fireworks at the press conference, English club manager Jose Mourinho remained calm. The "Chelsea" players, who had one more player for more than 90 minutes, played as if they were in the minority and withdrew from the tournament.
In the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, the London team "Chelsea" failed to overcome the "Paris Saint Germain" team, playing without Zlatan Ibrahimovic from the 30th minute, even though they were ahead twice. The French champions initially extended the game into extra time and scored a decisive goal at the end. A 2-2 result was enough for PSG to advance to the next stage based on the away goals rule.
"We had the victory in our hands twice, but we let it slip - the opponent was simply stronger. I think they handled the pressure better. When we were left with eleven against ten, we felt even more pressure", said J. Mourinho after the match.
"Chelsea" team couldn't control the ball and allowed the PSG team to impose their game. At the end of the match, when the goal was needed by the "Blues", the French managed the opponents perfectly, just not letting them control the ball. In terms of shots on goal, the English team won 15-12, but PSG created more dangerous episodes.
"It's time to stay calm, analyze our mistakes, and look forward to the matches in England. Now we need to win the Premier League", concluded J. Mourinho.
