London's "Chelsea" coach Jose Mourinho says that "Manchester City" club does not deserve to be the champion of England when they ignore the FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules.
Both "Chelsea" and "Man City" recently acquired new players during the winter transfer window for a substantial amount of money. The "Blues" attracted Juan Cuadrado for 33 million euros, while the "citizens" welcomed Wilfried Bony for 36 million euros.
However, J. Mourinho emphasizes that the arrival of J. Cuadrado was financed by the departure of Andre Schurrle to "Wolfsburg". Meanwhile, the English champions did not sell any players in January and spent a significant amount of money.
"When I arrived at 'Chelsea', I met with the club's owner Roman Abramovich, and he clearly told me that the team would consider the FFP rules.
I took that into account and analyzed which player we can sell and use the money received to buy a new one. I like following these rules, but the only drawback is that we have to compete with teams that do not comply," said the Portuguese coach.
"I don't think a team that does not follow the rules can call itself the champion of England," added J. Mourinho about "Man City's" spending spree in the player market.
