Johan Cruyff claims to be successfully dealing with a tricky illness

Former "Barcelona" and Netherlands national team player and coach Johan Cruyff is battling lung cancer and, as he says himself, is leading 2-0 ahead of it. The player, who has been named the best player in the world three times, heard the ruthless diagnosis last October. "The results are really positive. Thanks to the amazing work of the doctors and my positive attitude," said the 68-year-old Dutchman. "I feel now as if I am leading 2-0 in the first half of the match. But I am sure that eventually I will win," added J. Cruyff. For many years, the Dutchman smoked, but he gave up this harmful habit. As a coach, he even smoked on the sidelines of the football field. J. Cruyff quit smoking at the age of 44, when he underwent heart surgery in 1991. Two years later, he took part in a campaign against tobacco.
