The head coach of the team, Jose Anigo, denied rumors about the departure of one of the main team strikers, Didier Drogba.
This highly-rated player from the Ivory Coast national team joined Marseille team last year from the club and had a strong impact on the team. Showing great performance both in the national championship, European cups, and the national team, the player attracted attention from the best clubs in Europe.
However, Anigo clearly stated that "Marseille" does not want to let him go this summer: "If we were to part ways with such a standard goal scorer as Drogba, we would have to look for someone to replace him. And that would be very difficult."
The "Marseille" team is also interested in the duo of Benoit Pedretti and Pierre-Alain Frau, as well as Eric Carriere, Sabri Lamouchi, and Marcello Gallardo.
