Attacker Milan Jovanovic admitted that he made a mistake when moving to England.
The 30-year-old footballer joined Liverpool during the summer, leaving Belgium's Liege "Standard" after the contract ended, but he failed to establish himself in the main lineup.
"If I had gone to Italy or Germany, I would have been happier," the Serbian admitted. "My career would have been better playing in the 'Serie A' or 'Bundesliga' championships."
"I lived among many Serbians in Belgium, so the lifestyle was different, much more dynamic. Liverpool is completely different, I am lonely here. I haven't met anyone from my country, and I can only speak Serbian with my wife and children."
Jovanovic was invited by Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez, but the specialist soon moved to Inter Milan, so the striker did not get to work with him.
"If Benitez had stayed, everything would have gone differently. I had offers from 15 clubs, and by choosing Liverpool, I made a mistake," said the footballer.
In the English championship, Jovanovic played 10 matches, starting in half of them, but he did not score any goals.
