"Lyon" President Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that he is close to appointing Juninho as the club's sports director.
The former member of the Brazilian national team spent more than eight years here, precisely when "Lyon" experienced one of its most successful periods.
In the French championship, the midfielder simply dominated and helped his team win seven "Ligue 1" titles in a row.
"We are close to success. At least that's what I hope", said Aulas. "I have hope to bring Juninho back. We have been talking to him for a month now."
"We are doing everything to convince him. He is talented, a thoughtful guy. He asks a lot of questions. We are working on the basics, which should allow us to get his confirmation in the coming days."
"He left a part of his heart in Lyon, where fans adored him. It would be a win for both him and the club. I think he really wants to come back, and so does his wife. If he returns, it will be to win and elevate "Lyon" to the highest level."
