Brazil's Juninho Pernambucano is leaving Lyon's "Olympique" club. Since May 2019, after poor team results, Juninho is leaving his position as sports director at his former club. During his tenure, Juninho completed Lucas Paqueta's transfer to Lyon. L. Paqueta really shined in France, as well as the successful transfer of Carlos Toko Ekambi. However, with coaches things were a bit more difficult for the former "Olympique" sports director. With Juninho came Sylvinho as the coach, who really struggled with the team and was fired after 4 months. Afterwards, things went a bit better with Rudi Garcia, and now Peter Bosz's team is struggling in 12th place in Ligue 1. Juninho himself was a famous footballer, mainly known for his free kicks, which were loved by football fans. In Europe, the Brazilian played only for Lyon's "Olympique" team. AFP commented on his resignation: "This will be a better decision for the club, preparing for the future, and I also want to stop."
