"Juventus" aim - to repeat the success of 2003 in the "Camp Nou" stadium (interesting facts)

On Wednesday, the last participants of the UEFA Champions League semi-final will be revealed. The portal "EuroFootball.com" presents the most interesting facts of the matches between "Barcelona" and Turin's "Juventus".

- Neither team has ever managed to recover after losing the first knockout match 0:3 in the entire history of the tournament (8 attempts). However, "Barcelona" recently achieved the most memorable victory in Champions League history and was able to overturn the lead held by PSG (0:4).

- The last "Juventus" visit to the "Camp Nou" stadium ended with an Italian victory of 2:1. Goals were scored by P. Nedved and M. Zalayeta. In 2003, the "Serie A" giants made it to the tournament final, where they lost after an 11-meter penalty shootout to "Milan".

- "Barcelona" has won the last 15 tournament matches in front of their fans (50 goals scored, 7 goals conceded) under the guidance of Luis Enrique. This is the current longest streak, with just 1 win behind the record of Munich's "Bayern" (16).

- In the last eight matches at the "Camp Nou" stadium, the Catalans scored at least three goals in seven games.

- However, now "Barcelona" is in a rut and has lost three out of the last six Champions League matches. Before the era of L. Enrique, such a number of failures had been accumulated in 26 matches.

- "Barcelona" has reached the quarterfinal stage for the tenth consecutive season. This is the longest streak in the tournament's history, but in the last three seasons, they failed to advance to the semifinals.

- On the other hand, "Juventus" is playing in the quarterfinals for the third time in the last five seasons. During this period, no other "Serie A" club has managed to reach this stage.

- The Turin team well remembers the dark period (2003/04 - 2013/14) when they did not reach the Champions League semi-final. Now the Italians have a chance to play at this stage for the second time in the last three seasons.
