Two meetings involving the two strongest teams of the previous season kicked off the third round of the Italian championship. At home, Turin's "Juventus" took care of everything with "Sassuolo" in less than half an hour - Gonzalo Higuain scored a double in just 10 minutes, and a bit later another newcomer, Miralem Pjanic, also scored. Luca Antei reduced the difference in the 33rd minute and gave the guests some hope of a comeback, but the "bianconeri" confidently maintained their advantage.
