On Sunday, in the Italian championship, Turin's "Juventus" club became the sole leader of the league after playing the 31st round match, taking advantage of a sensational defeat by "Milan" in Siena, crushing "Lecce", and gaining a three-point advantage in the title race.

Although "Juve" was trailing from the 7th minute after M.Vučiničius' goal, later the Turin team scored five times and secured a victory with a goal scored by S.Dalla Bona in the penultimate minute, with a final score of 5-2. Z.Ibrahimovičius scored three goals for the winners.

Meanwhile, "Milan" struggled more, and despite leading for a little over an hour against "Siena" thanks to H.Crespo's goal, the hosts did not give up, and E.Chiesa equalized the score within nine minutes, and with four minutes left in the match, F.Cozza snatched the victory for one of the league's outsiders.

The only away victory was achieved by Rome's "Lazio" club, who defeated "Bologna" after a back-and-forth battle, rising to seventh place. "Livorno" and "Fiorentina" share the 8-11 positions, with the former winning 2-0 at home.

It was a very important and dramatic victory for M.Stankevičius' "Brescia", who won against another underdog, "Atalanta" club, after L.Di Biagio scored a penalty kick in the last minute of the match. By the way, Di Biagio missed the penalty at first, but the referee ordered it to be retaken, seeing the "Atalanta" players enter the box too early. They protested against this decision, and C.Rivalta was sent off the field for it.
