The club "Juventus" released a statement confirming that Maurizio Sarri has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
The 60-year-old football specialist caught the flu last week and missed the traditional friendly matches against the club's youth team. It is said that M. Sarri consulted doctors at that time.
"Today Maurizio Sarri visited the training center after a week of rest and gave instructions to his staff," Juventus said in a statement.
"Unfortunately, he was unable to conduct the training session due to a prolonged flu that hit him last week. Further tests were carried out in the late afternoon, which showed that he has pneumonia, so he was prescribed specific treatment therapy.
The coach gave permission for the club to inform about his health condition," the message from the Italian champions added.
"Juventus" will start the season in the "Serie A" championship this Saturday, but it is not clear at the moment if M. Sarri will be on the bench.
Maurizio Sarri was at the JTC today, but was not on the field.
