Director of Football Giuseppe Marotta admitted that this summer Juventus failed to acquire Robin van Persie because he was simply too expensive.
The Italian champions were tempting the forward from London's Arsenal, but the Dutchman ultimately agreed terms with Manchester United.
"Of course, it's a shame that we couldn't reach an agreement, but it wouldn't have been good for the club to pay 30 million euros for a player whose contract is only valid for a year," Marotta said. "We are happy with what we have achieved.
"We have attracted good young players with reasonable wages: Kwadwo Asamoah, Mauricio Isla, and Sebastian Giovinco. Another thing - Claudio Marchisio and Arturo Vidal, who were wanted by Bayern Munich, remain in the team."
