"Juventus" club fans will not see their captain on the field next year, among other things.
The Italian champions have confirmed that 35-year-old Giorgio Chiellini has successfully undergone knee surgery. The Italian defender has been absent from the lineup for a long time due to an injury he suffered during training - he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee.
"Juventus" announced that their team captain will need to miss at least six months without football.
In Chiellini's case, it is expected to recover in March of next year.
At the moment, Juventus has four healthy center-backs - Leonardo Bonucci, Matthijs de Ligt, Daniele Rugani, and Merih Demiral.
