Defender Stephan Lichtsteiner of Juventus signed a contract valid until June 30, 2017 on Tuesday.
The prolonged negotiations for a new contract sparked many rumors about a possible sale of the 30-year-old footballer this winter, as his old contract was valid until the following summer.
In a press release issued by Juventus, it is stated: "134 matches, 11 goals, 3 Scudetto titles, and unwavering work ethic."
"Stephan Lichtsteiner, who is playing his fourth season at Juventus, has given fans countless moments of joy, with more to come. The defender has signed a two-year contract with the possibility of extending it for another season," - announced the Italian club.
