Fans of the French Karim Benzema may hear news about the striker's crucial decision in the coming months.

As reported by "Relevo," the veteran is a step away from retiring from football.

The 36-year-old athlete would not be deterred even by a highly lucrative contract with Saudi Arabia's "Al Ittihad" team, guaranteeing over 200 million euros per season.

The current agreement between both parties is valid until the upcoming summer, but the contract includes an option to extend the cooperation for another season.

According to media, K. Benzema plans to return to Europe, where he would become an ambassador for the Madrid "Real" club.
