After another fantastic performance in the Champions League, Karim Benzema once again carved his name into the history of the "Real" club. The Frenchman became the 5th player in the club's history to score more than 40 goals in a single season. Other "Real" players who achieved this milestone: Cristiano Ronaldo (8 times), Hugo Sanchez (2 times), Alfredo Di Stefano, and Ferenc Puskas.
Yesterday, K. Benzema also became the second highest goal scorer in a single Champions League knockout season. Currently, the "Real" forward has 9 goals to his name, with the record belonging to C. Ronaldo who scored 10 times in the 2016/17 CL knockout stages.
