Forward Kevin Davies, who plays in the England championship, has signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract with the club and agreed to stay at "Reebok" until 2010.

The 29-year-old striker, who arrived at Bolton in 2003 from Southampton, would have been out of contract this summer.

"I am delighted that everything worked out," the player's words are quoted on the official club website after signing the contract. "The future of this club looks promising, and I am happy to be a part of it."

Bolton head coach Sam Allardyce also expressed his joy that K. Davies' future has finally been clarified: "Kevin contributes greatly to our successful results, and I am happy that he has committed his future to us."

After 23 rounds in the English Premier League, Bolton is in fifth place and only two points behind Arsenal, who are one step higher.
