K. De Bruyne: I Don't Aim to Become a Star of Manchester City Club

"Manchester City" newcomer Kevin De Bruyne in an interview admitted that his goal is not to become a team star, he just wants to play well and help the club achieve the highest goals.

The 24-year-old midfielder became a real "bomb" in the transfer market this summer. "Man City" acquired the Belgian from "Wolfsburg" for a record €75 million fee. Having shown amazing form last season, the midfielder has already played three times for the "citizens" and scored two goals.

"I don't want to become a star, I just want to play well," said the Belgian, who was named the best player in the German "Bundesliga" last season.

"The amount paid for me is very high, but I still had a four-year contract with "Wolfsburg," so it's not surprising that they didn't want to let me go. The situation would be completely different if I had only a one-year contract.

"These are huge amounts of money, but I came here to play football, because there are many other great footballers without me. I don't want to be a star or a captain, I want to be that quiet guy who speaks little but does a lot," added K.De Bruyne.
