"Manchester City" player Kevin De Bruyne still remembers the period of his career at "Chelsea" in London when the team was still led by Portuguese Jose Mourinho.
The Belgian did not get opportunities to show himself, and eventually left for Germany for 18 million pounds sterling.
Shining at the "Wolfsburg" club, he switched to the "citizens" last year, with a transfer fee reaching an impressive 55 million pounds sterling.
"Mourinho invited all attacking midfielders to a conversation. He presented us with statistics: assists, goals, passing accuracy percentage, dribbling with the ball. The Portuguese wanted to prove that my game was worse than others," De Bruyne said about his departure from "Chelsea".
"But I told him: it's not fair. I played fewer games than others. How can you compare all this?"
"I soon became the main player at the "Wolfsburg" club, performed well in the World Cup. Who was right? I just wanted to play football. Sit me on the bench and I feel bad," the Belgian said about reports of "laziness" during training.
"Chelsea" wanted to loan me out again, but I had enough - I wanted to leave".
