The Belgian national team ended their EURO 2024 campaign on Monday.

In the quarter-final match, Belgians lost 0:1 to France with a minimal score.

After the defeat, the captain of the Belgian national team, Kevin De Bruyne, did not hide his disappointment and stated that his team executed the game plan perfectly.

"It's a great pity. We had a clear plan and we stuck to it. We knew that with players like the French, they would have more possession, but we had our moments.

Our plan was good, but after conceding the goal, we didn't have time to react anymore.

I did everything that was asked of me. I had to play more in a defensive position, but I had my chances in attack. It's a great pity that I didn't take my opportunity.

I think we complicated our situation when we lost the first match to Slovakia," De Bruyne said.
