After an unsuccessful attempt in 2012, London's Chelsea managed to triumph in the Club World Cup in 2022. In this year's Club World Cup final, Chelsea defeated San Paulo's Palmeiras 2-1 after extra time. No goals were scored in the first half, but in the second half the teams exchanged goals. In the 55th minute of the second half, Romelu Lukaku scored a goal in a row, and in the 64th minute Raphael Veiga responded with a precise shot from the 11-meter mark after Thiago Silva played with his hand in the penalty area. However, the decisive goal in extra time was scored by Kai Havertz, who also scored the decisive goal in last season's Champions League final. Immediately in the penalty shootout, Palmeiras player Luan played with his hand and the penalty was converted by the talented German. Chelsea became the third English club to win this trophy. The other clubs are Liverpool and Manchester United.
