After the Russian Football Federation completed the paperwork, experienced defender Karolis Jasaitis no longer had any obstacles to officially debut in the ranks of the Vilnius football club "Reo."

"We really need Karolis's mastery and composure in critical moments. Especially since there are many young players in the team who lack experience," says "Reo" head coach Stasys Baranauskas.

Last year, the defender signed a contract with the Russian club "Nizhny Novgorod," but after ankle surgery, the contract was mutually terminated, and he decided to return to his homeland.

"The doctors 'cleaned' the constantly hurting ankle. Now I am ready to play. I want to prove that I can still do something on the football field and help my team achieve victories," says K.Jasaitis.

During his career, the 29-year-old footballer has played for Vilnius "Žalgiris," Marijampolė's "Sūduva," and Tauragė's "Tauras."

K.Jasaitis has been training with the Vilnius football club for several months already, but he couldn't officially play in matches because the Russian club and the country's football federation took a long time to process the necessary documents.

In the ranks of "Reo," K.Jasaitis hopes to officially debut this coming Saturday, when the Vilnius club will play a home match in the Lithuanian Football A League against the "Tauras" team. The match at the "Sportima" stadium (Ąžuolyno 5) will begin at 17:00.

The Vilnius football club "Reo" was founded in 2005. Since its establishment, the club has won the Vilnius County III League championship twice in 2006 and 2008, and in 2010, they won the Lithuanian Football Federation's II League championship and entered the LFF I League. In 2011, "Reo" won the Lithuanian I League and, on sporting principles, entered the top A League in the country.
