Last season, Kristupas Keršys, who played on loan in Šiauliai, will continue to play in Šiauliai.
The defender, who arrived from the Latvian club "Metta" on loan last season, has signed a new long-term contract and became a full member of the Šiauliai team.
The 21-year-old Kristupas began his professional football career at the aforementioned Latvian club, later trying his skills with the Slovakian team "Slovan," but he did not stay there long before moving to Germany, where he represented the youth teams of the "Werder Bremen" club in the top German football league for almost 3 years.
In 2024, the defender secured a place in the starting lineup of Šiauliai, wearing the yellow and black shirt in 13 matches, during which he scored one goal and provided 2 assists. Unfortunately, his excellent start to the season was halted by a cruciate ligament injury sustained in the LFF Cup match against Marijampolė "Sūduva." However, the player underwent surgery in June and has since been undergoing rehabilitation in Šiauliai. He is also gradually being integrated into the team's training process.
"I am happy to become a full member of the Sun City team. Although last season was not what we wanted for both the team and myself, I am ready to fully return to the line-up as soon as possible and help the team achieve its goals in the new season. I eagerly await the moment when I can wear the yellow and black shirt and see the yellow and black community in the stands again. Let's go, Šiauliai!" said Kristupas Keršys, who has tied his future to the Sun City.
