K. Mbappe received a red card, but PSG still reached the league cup final (VIDEO)

On Wednesday evening, the first semi-final of the French league cup was played, where the team "Rennes" hosted "Paris Saint-Germain" at home. The leaders of the highest division allowed Edinson Cavani to rest, but his teammates took care of the ticket to the final.

The capital's footballers typically controlled the ball significantly longer, although their opponents did not allow them to dominate completely. This advantage began to show on the scoreboard already in the middle of the first half, when Thomas Meunier scored a great goal from the penalty area.

Immediately after the break, Kylian Mbappe thought he had doubled PSG's advantage, but his goal was not counted. However, this did not cause major problems, as Marquinhos soon scored, followed by Giovanni Lo Celso after a substitution.

A few moments later, Mbappe, who remained without a goal, managed to earn a red card for a rough foul on Mikael Lesage and was sent off the field.

Without him, the Parisians did not score any more goals, and the match ended with a debut goal from Diafra Sakho and Sanjin Prčiči, with a final score of 3-2.

The second semi-final match between "Monaco" and "Montpellier" will take place tomorrow.
