Madrid's "Real" goalkeeper Keylor Navas had a very difficult match yesterday against Seville's "Real Betis", but his impressive save in the last minute saved the "white" team from a tie.
In the match at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, "Real" surpassed Seville's "Real Betis" with a score of 2-1. The only goal for the visitors was scored by K. Navas himself, unfortunately failing to catch the ball and pushing it into his own goal with his hand.
Lately, K. Navas has been receiving a lot of criticism for his performance, and this critical mistake further provoked the "Real" fans, who started to jeer the Costa Rican, but another part of the fans didn't engage in provocations and applauded their goalkeeper, who didn't deserve to be left indifferent at the end of the match.
"Regarding the "Real Betis" goal, I tried to catch the ball and hold it close to me, but my position was wrong and, unfortunately, the ball ended up in the net from my hands", explained K. Navas the situation.
"It's a situation you always try to avoid, but from such things we must learn. I traveled a very long way to reach the level at which I am playing now, so I don't intend to give up easily.
We are a united team and everyone supports me in it. I feel the team's confidence, which leads me forward. I have to make an effort to improve my game and not disappoint the team with such mistakes.
I feel happy that at the end of the match I helped the team preserve the victory," added K. Navas, who had an impressive performance in the 2014 World Cup and arrived at "Real" the same summer.
"Real" returned to the leader position after the victory against "Real Betis" and has a two-point advantage.
