Beginning the second season in the Serie A championships, Krzysztof Piatek will not leave the Milan team until he proves his worth.
Starting impressively last season in the Italian championships with Genoa, the Polish player transferred to Milan in winter and demonstrated good goal-scoring ability until the end of the season.
However, this season is much more challenging for him: in 12 games, he scored only three goals, two of which were penalty kicks.
The 24-year-old footballer admits that he is not in his best form, but he claims that he will "pay off" the amount for which Milan acquired rights to him.
"My transfer to Milan happened so quickly that I didn't even have time to ask questions," the Polish player remembered the winter transfer window.
"I am focused on my work, because in football you always look for new goals and achievements. Now I am worth 38 million euros, but next time, when I move to another team, I want my value to be 60-70 million euros," the striker continued.
"I have to be ambitious and work hard towards this goal. My career is just beginning and this is only the second season in Serie A, which is one of the best in the world," the player added.
When asked about the criticism he has already received while playing for Milan, K. Piatek replied: "I often look in the mirror and I know that I can only blame myself.
At the beginning of the season, the team struggled to create opportunities, but now we are improving and I have no doubt that I will soon shine with my goals again. In Italy, one day you can be a football pope, and the next – the worst player in the world. Nevertheless, I am not at all bothered by the headlines in newspapers."
