As the official start of the new season approaches, "Leicester City" fans received great news. The team's veteran Kasper Schmeichel has signed a new five-year contract with the English champions.
The 29-year-old footballer, who joined the "foxes" in 2011, made a significant contribution to the historic club's triumph in the English Premier League last season. His successful performances in goal were one of the reasons behind "Leicester City's" triumph in England.
"I am very happy and cannot wait to start the new season," said K. Schmeichel in an interview with the official website. "Making this decision was not difficult. From the very first day, I felt good here and I cherish every minute wearing this club's colors on the pitch."
The Danish national team goalkeeper has played 220 matches for Leicester City over five seasons and won the Premier League title.
