Kaka: "I should not have played against France" © EuroFootball.com

On Saturday, during an interview on one of the Brazilian television stations, Brazilian national team and AC Milan defender Kaka admitted that he was not fully prepared to play in the World Cup quarterfinal match against the French team and stated that he should not have rushed onto the field.

Kaka revealed that he had lied to the national team coach Carlos Alberto Parreira about being ready to play, even though he still felt pain in his knee, which he injured during the round of 16 match against the Ghanaian team.

"I told coach Parreira that I could play. That was a mistake...I shouldn't have played, because playing with an injury restricts you," the footballer said.

"In the World Cup, you get caught up in the euphoria and don't think about what could happen," the Brazilian continued.

Kaka also publicly criticized the preparation of the Brazilian national team for the World Cup in Switzerland. Approximately 5,000 football enthusiasts were able to watch the training sessions.

"One thing that hindered the preparation was the number of people, it affected the players' concentration and in the future, this could be improved," explained the footballer.
