In the 6th round of the "TOPsport A League," more than 6000 football fans witnessed a goalless draw between "Kauno Žalgiris" and Marijampolė's "Sūduva".

At the start of the match, the players of "Kauno Žalgiris" were more active, calmly controlling the ball, orchestrating positional attacks, and delivering sharper passes from the flanks into the penalty area.

The situation on the pitch changed somewhat when, in the 15th minute, Žygimantas Baltrūnas took a shot with his left foot after a good pass from Stewe Lawson.

In the 27th minute, following a quick attack from the Marijampolė team, Nauris Petkevičius took another shot from the 16-meter line.

The hosts had another opportunity to take the lead when Dejanas Georgijevičius received a good pass, but Marijampolė's goalkeeper Ignas Plūkas was the first to the ball.

The game continued with battling football – the green and whites delivered sharper passes, but neither team succeeded in scoring before the end of the first half.

The second half began quite calmly, and the first dangerous episode occurred only in the 54th minute, when Gratas Sirgėdas sent a dangerous ball into the penalty area after a set piece.

In the 61st minute, the Žalgiris team once again tested I. Plūkas's skills when Amine Benchaiba took a low shot into the bottom corner of the goal. A little later, after a corner, the goalkeeper was forced to catch the ball again.

Playing actively in defense and waiting for their chance in counterattacks, the Marijampolė team managed to score in the 78th minute, but it was disallowed for offside.

The hosts could have taken the lead in the 84th minute after a corner, but Viliaus Armanavičius's header hit the post.

The stubborn match ended in a goalless draw, after which "Sūduva" rose to the top position in the league table with 13 points, while "Kauno Žalgiris" remains in sixth place with 9 points.
