After a seven-year break, a player from Georgia will once again compete at the "Kauno Žalgiris" football club - the "TOPsport A league" bronze medalists have reached an agreement with Temur Chogadze.
The 26-year-old attacking player was previously called up to the youth national teams of Georgia, where he managed to score one goal.
"I am coming to a new team, to a new environment, and I can't wait to join the team. I have never played in Lithuania before, so it will be very interesting. I am ready for new challenges," said the new team member to Žalgiris.lt.
Born in Batumi, T. Chogadze is a product of Tbilisi "Saburtalo." It was at this club that he signed his first professional contract and made his debut in the highest football league in Georgia. Later, the new Žalgiris player was loaned to the Batumi "Dinamo" team.
After signing a contract with the "Rustavi" team, the Georgian was also loaned to the Kutaisi "Torpedo" team, with which he made his debut in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers in 2019.
At the beginning of 2020, the player started his legionnaire career and moved to the Donetsk "Olimpik" club, which was playing in the strongest league in Ukraine at the time. Interestingly, a former Žalgiris player, Daniel Romanovskis, was also playing there at that time.
After a little over a year and a half in Ukraine, T. Chogadze returned to his home country and wore the jerseys of two more clubs in Georgia's top league - "Telavi" and "Gagra."
In the summer of 2022, he joined the Karaganda "Shakhter" team in Kazakhstan, where he experienced the most successful stage of his career so far. Over a year and a half, he played 42 matches, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists.
After a great run in Kazakhstan, T. Chogadze decided to join one of the most famous clubs in Uzbekistan - Qarshi "Nasaf." After winning the Uzbekistan Super Cup and spending half a year there, the Georgian returned to Kazakhstan and, before arriving in Kaunas, played 8 matches and scored a goal for Taldykorgan "Zhetysu."
