Last weekend, the last three matches of the 2024 "TOPsport futsal A league" were played, after which "Kauno Žalgiris" increased its lead in the standings, "Gargždų pramogos" returned to the second place, and "VGTU Vilkai" fought for their second victory of the season.
Leaders' Duel
In the match between league leaders "Kauno Žalgiris" and "Bruklinas" from Vilkaviškis, who had been in second place just last week, there was no intrigue. The champions took control of the game from the very beginning, creating a three-goal advantage by halftime, and forced their opponent, Adam Vieraitis, to earn a red card.
The only consolation for "Bruklinas" was a goal from Dominykas Daunoravičius, which reduced the deficit to 1:3. However, the end of the match belonged to the hosts, who scored four goals in six minutes and secured a convincing victory.
The Žalgiris team could have scored even more, but towards the end of the match, they missed a ten-meter penalty. "Bruklinas," having suffered defeat, will greet Christmas having fallen to third place, while "Kauno Žalgiris" has achieved ten consecutive victories.
"Kauno Žalgiris" – "Bruklinas" 7:1

Reimaris
The most valuable player of October, Deividas Reimaris, added two goals to his tally last weekend, enough for him to finish the calendar year as the league's top scorer.
The first goal of the match between "Gargždų pramogos" and Mažeikiai VIP didn't take long to arrive. The hosts made a mistake, and Aivaras Bagočius, who found himself one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper, did not miss. The guests equalized before halftime when, by substituting their goalkeeper with a fifth player, they freed Algimantas Bačanskis, who struck from a few meters and gave the opponents no chance to save the goal.
In the second half, there were no goals for more than ten minutes. Then, D. Reimaris got his chance, initially scoring with an impressive but weak shot, and later – a very powerful shot from a set piece, giving his team a two-goal lead.
With two minutes remaining, the Gargždai team got caught up in the midfield, lost the ball, and Tadas Markevičius managed to bring his team back into contention just minutes later. Unfortunately for VIP, that goal proved to be the last in the match.

Revenge
In the first round, "VGTU Vilkai" gave "Akmenės kraštas" a tough fight, and in the second round, they performed even better, clinching their second victory of the season. The Vilnius team's defense was shaken by two goals conceded in the first half of the first half.
Before halftime, the hosts erased the deficit. Particularly painful for the Akmenė team was Jurgis Stankevičius' goal, which came just two seconds before the break following a counterattack.
In the second half, "VGTU Vilkai" took the lead for the first time, and "Akmenės kraštas" decided to substitute their goalkeeper for a fifth outfield player. With six minutes left, Justinas Lesickas shot from nearly the entire pitch into an empty net, and the ball soon rippled the net.
The Akmenė players continued to play with five. In the remaining time, they created three goals but conceded two – both into an empty net. Jokūbas Višinskas scored with nineteen seconds remaining.
