The performance in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers ended with "Kauno Žalgiris" bidding farewell to several footballers who had been playing in the club until now.
The green and white jersey will no longer be worn by Brahimas Konate, who joined the team before the season. The 27-year-old central defender faced family problems and expressed his desire to return to France. The contract was terminated by mutual agreement.
The player holding French and Malian citizenship played 20 matches in the "Optibet A League" this year, starting in 19 of them, scoring 2 goals and making 2 assists.
Due to the aforementioned problems, B. Konate did not help the team in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers against Poznan's "Lech".
"Brahimas was one of the leaders of the team, so it is very regrettable that he found himself in this situation. At the moment, the player is focusing on resolving family matters and when he thinks about football again, he will most likely continue playing in France," said club president Mantas Kalnietis.
The main team of "Kauno Žalgiris" also found a new club - the 19-year-old winger Nojus Akinis who played a few official matches in the LFF Cup until now will now play for the "Garliavos" team.
Also parting ways with the club earlier were Ryan Trotman among others.
