Last weekend, the matches of the fifteenth round in the "TOPsport futsal A league" were played, after which the "Vikingai" broke through to second place, while at the bottom of the table, "Radviliškis", "Kėdainiai United", and "VGTU Vilkai" are separated by just a few points.

The Jonavos "Vikingai," who started the season poorly, managed to climb to the second position. To do this, they needed a victory against Mažeikiai VIP, and they fought hard for that victory in Viekšniai.

The match started with the "Vikingai" having a game advantage, but they could not convert that advantage into goals throughout the entire first half. Everything changed in the second half when Šarūnas Činikas intercepted the ball on the side of Mažeikiai's pitch. He tried to pass the ball to Artūras Juchno, but Mindaugas Minevičius, who jumped in front of him, accidentally scored an own goal.

From that moment, all troubles began for the VIP. After two minutes, the same duo of A. Juchno and Š. Činikas created the second goal, and a few minutes later, Jefersonas Fula celebrated after scoring from the goal line.

The end of the match became a formality. The guests took advantage of it better, increasing an already significant lead. There were close calls for VIP to score a consolation goal, but "Vikingai" goalkeeper Karolis Čirba did not allow that.

While the "Vikingai" were celebrating in Jonava, "Akmenės kraštas" defeated "Bruklinas" 4:3, further raising the spirits of the "Vikingai" and lowering VIP's morale. This result means that the Vilkaviškis team is now fourth in the table based on lost points, while "Akmenės kraštas" came closer to VIP by a point.

At the beginning of the match, "Bruklinas" did not face any bad omens. After intercepting the ball on the opponent's side and launching a beautiful attack, Vilkaviškis took the lead after a goal from Delmiras Lima.

"Akmenės kraštas" had a response. After the referee called a foul approximately on the penalty box line, a brilliant shot by Jose Wellington followed. To add to the chaos, Goncalves Rodrigues caught the unprepared opponents off guard and led his team forward for the first time.

It was clear that that goal energized "Akmenės kraštas." Another foul by "Bruklinas" cost them another goal. Once again, J. Wellington showcased his skill, scoring a goal from about twelve meters.

Francisco Gustavo reduced the deficit with a stunning shot before halftime, and early in the second half, he equalized the score. However, the legionnaire's brace was not enough for the Vilkaviškis team. "Bruklinas" again failed to defend against a set piece midway through the second half, leading to their loss.

A minimal difference was recorded in the match between "Kėdainiai United" and "VGTU Vilkai." In a meeting of teams fighting for a playoff spot, fortune smiled upon the representatives from Kėdainiai. At the same time, they avenged their earlier defeat to Vilkai in the capital.

Starting confidently, the guests took the lead after just three minutes with a goal from Jurgis Stankevičius. Unfortunately for them, the second goal had to wait until the very end of the match.

During that time, the hosts created three threatening situations, which ultimately determined the outcome in their favor. The equalizing goal was scored when the first half was halfway through. After a corner, the team play freed Roko Mikuckis, who did not miss his chance.

Before halftime, Evaldas Kugys forced a mistake from the goalkeeper, and with five minutes left in the match, Vadimas Bezverkhyi scored into the empty net. At that point, "VGTU Vilkai" had replaced their goalkeeper with a fifth player.

With 33 seconds left, the deficit was reduced, but the Vilnius team could not avoid defeat.

"Kėdainiai United" – "VGTU Vilkai" 3:2

Goals: R. Mikuckis, E. Kugys, V. Bezverkhyi; J. Stankevičius, D. Zybartas

In the last match of the round on Sunday, "Kauno Žalgiris" fought for their thirteenth season victory and secured the title of regular season champion. The Kaunas team finished their preparation for the Baltic League final tournament by defeating their opponents 11:1.

The "Radviliškis" team, continuing their series of losses, managed to hold out for eight minutes, but afterward, the Kaunas team consistently tormented their opponents. However, the Radviliškis team did find the net when their deficit was only 0:2.

The match went superbly for captain Justinas Zagurskas. He scored three times in a three-minute span at the turn of the halves. Another three players added a brace to their accounts.

Having secured first place in the "TOPsport futsal A league" regular season, "Kauno Žalgiris" footballers will test their strength this weekend in the Baltic League final stage and await their opponents in the country's championship quarterfinals. This could be either the last opponent Radviliškis, Kėdainiai United, or VGTU Vilkai.

"Kauno Žalgiris" – "Kėdainiai United" 11:1

Goals: J. Zagurskas 3, V. Derendiajev 2, F. da Silva 2, R. Mantelli 2, L. Sendžikas, E. Romanovas; M. Martyševas
