"Kauno Žalgiris" remains solid in home derbies against Kauno rajonas' "Hegelmann" team. In the 7th round of the "TOPsport A league," the Žalgiris players won with a score of 3:1 (1:0).

The first serious threat to the goal defended by Arijus Bražinskas arose in the 8th minute – after an impressive play, Fabienas Ourega created a chance for a shot, but the goalkeeper successfully intervened with his foot. At one point, Aldayras Hernandez directed the ball towards the goalkeeper, while on the other side of the field, Rasheed Yusuf rattled the crossbar with a header.

In the 44th minute, Fiodoras Černychas sent the ball into the post with a powerful long-range shot. During the last attack of the home team in the first half, Antonas Tolordava forced Vilius Armalas to handle the ball in the penalty area – after a VAR review, the penalty was converted by Amine‘as Benchaibas. For the legionnaire from Belgium, this was his 4th goal of the year.

After the break, the blue and white team started to play more solidly. Already in the 56th minute, after a pass from Leo Ribeiro, R. Yusuf directed the ball with his head into the near corner of the goal. Taking the initiative, the visitors attacked with threatening moments from Artem Ščedro and V. Armalas.

However, in the 71st minute, Romualdas Jansonas timely spotted Haymennas Bah-Traore cutting into the penalty area, who took advantage of his opportunity. At a crucial moment, "Kauno Žalgiris" was saved by Deividas Mikelionis after shots from Yanis Azouazi and Klaudijus Upstas. In turn, in the first minute of added time, Vilius Armanavičius converted a penalty after Nidas Vosylius forced Y. Azouazi to foul in the penalty area.

The blue and white's five-game winning streak came to an end, but with 15 points they continue to lead, while "Kauno Žalgiris" has 12 points and sits in fifth place.
