"Kaunas Žalgiris” football club during the summer transfer window received its second newcomer.
Prior to this, having signed a contract with the captain of the Lithuanian national team Fedor Černych, the Kaunas team invited 29-year-old Jonathan Tamimi to join their ranks.
Born in Sweden, the right-back has previously represented the Swedish youth team and later chose to represent Jordan. He has played 5 matches for the Jordan national team.
"This is a player about whom we have collected very good reviews. One of the priorities is that newcomers constantly play and can immediately help the team, and Jonathan is exactly that. He can play both left and right and has gained a lot of experience in a good-level championship,” - Žalgiris.lt's team assistant coach Eivinas Černiauskas told about the new team player.
Until now, almost his entire career, the footballer played in his native Sweden, and he arrived in Kaunas as a Jordanian champion with the Irbid "Al Hussein” club.
Representing Jonkoping's "Södra”, Sundsvalio GIF, Mjelbiu AIF, and Degerfoso IF teams in Sweden, the new Žalgiris player has played 123 matches in the country's top league, scoring a goal and making 12 assists.
Another 83 matches, 2 goals and 5 assists in his statistics are the second best in the performance of the Swedish league, where he had to wear the jerseys of Stockholm's "Hammarby”, Burlenge's "Brage”, and Jonkoping's "Södra”. J.Tamimi has twice become a champion of this league.
