Leader of Glasgow attack Kris Boyd will no longer play due to injury and will only appear on the pitch in January this year.
K. Boyd was injured in Sunday's Scottish championship game against Falkirk when he collided with opponent Kenny Milne in the first half. The striker injured his ankle and was substituted during halftime. Rangers lost the mentioned match to Falkirk after a 35-year break.
"Of course, I am disappointed, but such things can happen in football," the Scotsman officially told the club's website.
The 23-year-old striker has already scored 11 goals for the Glasgow club this season. Rangers called him from the Kilmarnock team in January of this year, where K. Boyd had managed to score 17 goals in the first half of the season.
