Munich's CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Saturday on a German television station that he cannot imagine the team leader Michael Ballack leaving for either Real Madrid or Manchester United when he could stay at Bayern.
"I can't imagine why he (M. Ballack - ed.) would go to Manchester United," Rummenigge said on Saturday. "What advantages does Man Utd have over Bayern? None, just look at the league table. If I were a player, I definitely wouldn't go to Manchester."
Last week, Ballack asked for more time to consider Bayern's offer of a new contract, which would make the 29-year-old midfielder the highest-paid player in Germany.
"Real would also be a mistake," the German continued. "They are a club with a great image, but they haven't won anything in the last two years."
The German media reports that Ballack is also being pursued by Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan.
According to the German media, Bayern has offered the captain of the German national team a new four-year contract, as his current contract with Bayern expires in June next year.
