28-year-old Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has stated that he never wanted to leave the "white" team, even though at the end of the transfer window he had one foot in the Manchester United club.
Real were very close to having David De Gea as their new goalkeeper, with Navas taking his place at the Red Devils team. However, these negotiations did not happen at the right time, and the Costa Rican national team goalkeeper is happy with this opportunity.
"I never thought about leaving Real," Navas said after a great match against Granada. "I always wanted to stay here and I am very happy until now."
"The deal with Man Utd was complicated. This situation is not comfortable, but now I am focused only on the present. I am sure that the fans supported me in any situation," concluded the goalkeeper.
This season Navas has already played five matches and has not conceded a single goal.
