The leader of Vilnius' "Riteriai" team this season was supposed to be Felipe Brisola, who played only 12 matches or 673 minutes, after which it became clear that he suffered another serious injury and will not be able to help the team anymore this season. The Brazilian, who made three assists, terminated his contract with the club until the end of the year and returned to his homeland.
"When we were building the foundation of this year's team, we saw Felipe as a leader, helping his team mates. Unfortunately, continuous injuries and, ultimately, torn ligaments prevented the footballer from demonstrating his abilities.
It is very unfortunate for us as a club to lose such a player, especially when it happens for the second year in a row. We wish him the best of luck and a speedy recovery," said "Riteriai" director Vladimir Buzmakov.
This season, F. Brisola stepped onto the field for the first time in the fourth round of the "Optibet A League". Later, due to pain, he played on and off, but in the match in Gargzdai on June 3, just before halftime, he suffered an injury that ended his season.
In the 12 matches played, F. Brisola spent more than 45 minutes on the field only six times. In two matches against "Dziugas" and "Banga" he made successful assists.
Ognjen Dimitričius has already arrived to take F. Brisola's place. The club is looking for ways to further strengthen the defensive line.
