On Tuesday two matches are played in the Lithuanian football A League. In the first match of the day, Pakruojis "Kruoja" played a 1-1 draw with Klaipėda "Atlantas" at home.
Right at the beginning of the match, in the 6th minute, the Klaipėda team took the lead. Attacking a high pass, forward Rokas Krušnauskas, who made his first appearance in the starting lineup, outpaced the defender and goalkeeper Artūras Vaičulis.
The quality of the pitch and the increasingly strong wind prevented the players from demonstrating technical football, the game was dominated by tough battles in the middle of the field, and there were many technical errors.
However, "Atlantas" managed to threaten the home team's goal very dangerously. After a sharp pass from Andrius Jokšys, goal scorer R. Krušnauskas found himself in the attack, the ball was headed by the forward and hit the crossbar.
Unfortunately, at the end of the first half, the Klaipėda team made a mistake for the second consecutive match. This time, goalkeeper Mindaugas Malinauskas failed to predict the trajectory of the ball when Aivaras Bagočius made a long-distance pass. Due to the hard surface, the ball simply bounced over the visiting player.
In the second half, both teams did not create very dangerous attacks, the strong wind and poor pitch did not allow the spectators to see beautiful football. Although at the climax of the match "Atlantas" made several sharper attacks and tried to score from set pieces, the opportunities were not realized.
However, the final word belonged to "Kruoja". After a sharp pass from Nerijus Mačiulis into the penalty area, the home team's forward Ričardas Beniušis hit the back of the net dangerously.
After these matches, "Atlantas" with 14 points remained in third place in the A League standings, while "Kruoja" with 13 points is in fifth place.
In the other match, Alytus "Dainava" scored their first goal of the season but celebrated a 1-7 victory at home against "Trakai".
