Luis Enrique was introduced yesterday as the new head coach of the Spanish national team.
L. Enrique will replace Fernando Hierro in the national team coach's seat, who led the team only during the 2018 World Cup, when he had to step into the position after the unexpected dismissal of Julen Lopetegui.
During the first press conference, L. Enrique stated that he has already compiled a list of possible candidates, which includes many new names.
"When I became the national team coach, I immediately made a list of 70 possible players," the strategist said.
"Some have been called up to the national team before, some have played very little, and others are familiar faces. I can't wait to announce my lineup.
"There is no doubt that there will be some surprises in it," L. Enrique added.
It is believed that players like Sergi Roberto, Marc Bartra, Ander Herrera, Cesc Fabregas, and others will receive a call-up to the national team.
