Spanish national team coach Luis Enrique could not understand how the Croatian national team managed to extend their victory in the UEFA Nations League.
Croatia dramatically defeated Spain by a score of 3:2 in the final moments of the match on Thursday. L. Enrique's players are in first place in their group with 6 points, while Croatia, tied with England, would also remain in the same position.
Despite the fact that the Spaniards did not dominate in this match, L. Enrique believes that his team did not deserve to lose.
"We were much better in the first half, but due to some inaccuracies in the attack, we were not threatening enough to their goal," said L. Enrique.
"The team deserved much more, certainly not such a failure. They scored the first goal after our mistake, the second after a set piece, and the third was scored when both teams practically disregarded defense.
It is obvious that we wanted the victory. There were many positive things in the second half. These matches showed what a difficult group we were in. Of course, we did not expect the last two failures, but we still have a chance to stay in first place," explained the coach.
