At the press conference, L. Enrique was asked about the FIFA Best Player of the Year award. The coach praised Luka Modric, who is the favorite for this award, but admitted that Lionel Messi should receive the award for the best player each year.
"When I talk about Croatian players, I am not only talking about Modric, but also about Rakitic. They both deserve individual awards," the coach said.
"But when we talk about the best player in the world, the prize should only go to one person - Lionel Messi. He is one step ahead of everyone else," added L. Enrique.
