L. Enrique: "We were much better than Liverpool" © AFP

The Paris Saint-Germain club began their UEFA Champions League round of 16 series against Liverpool with a home defeat, losing 0-1.

However, the hosts dominated almost the entire match and it seemed only a matter of time before the French champions opened their scoring account.

Nevertheless, Liverpool’s goalkeeper Alisson miraculously saved the team on several occasions, and at the end of the match, the winning goal was scored by Harvey Elliott, who came on as a substitute.

After the match, PSG's coach Luis Enrique stated that the result was unfair and he still believes in his team's chances of progressing further.

"Can we turn the tie around next week at Anfield? Of course. We will do it.

The match result is very unfair. The opponents only shot on target once and that was enough for a goal.

The best player for Liverpool today was the goalkeeper. That’s very strange.

I am proud of my team. We were much better than Liverpool,” L. Enrique said.
