After spending one season in Vilnius, the foreign player from the Netherlands, Leandro Fernandes, will not return to "Žalgiris" next year – the contract with the player has been terminated by mutual agreement.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined the ranks of "Žalgiris" at the end of February, just before the start of the country's championship.
He played 11 matches for the team – 10 in the championship and 1 in the cup tournament – scored 1 goal, and became the Lithuanian champion.
From July to November, the footballer was sidelined due to an injury sustained during training. He returned to the field in the last matches of "Žalgiris" for the season.
During the offseason, the Lithuanian champions also said goodbye to goalkeeper Dušan Marković, defender Maroslavas Mazuras, and midfielder Yukiyoshi Karashima.
