L. Koscielny refused to travel to the USA with the team

On Thursday, London's Arsenal departs for a pre-season tour in the United States, but just before the trip the "Gunners" faced a setback from team captain Laurent Koscielny.

The official Arsenal website announced that the 33-year-old Frenchman, who had been recovering from a serious Achilles tendon injury last season, refused to travel with the team and prepare for the upcoming season.

"We are very disappointed with Laurent's actions, which clearly contradict the club's rules.

We hope to resolve the situation as soon as possible and we are not ready to comment further on it in the near future," the club's statement reads.

According to various sources, L. Koscielny seeks to mutually terminate his contract with Arsenal so that he can move to one of the teams in Ligue 1 without any hindrance.

The Frenchman has been playing for the Gunners since 2010 and has played 353 matches, scoring 27 goals during that time.
