L. Martinez: I Expected More from the "Ballon d'Or" Voting

Forward Lautaro Martinez from Milan's "Inter," who played exceptionally well last season, feels undervalued.

The 27-year-old Argentine watched with sadness as the results of the "Ballon d'Or" voting were announced, where he finished only seventh.

"It could have been better. To be honest, I expected more, but I play for Milan's "Inter" club and the Argentina national team, so sometimes these awards don’t go in the right direction," said the forward.

In the past, the striker had ranked 20th and 21st in the voting.

This year, L. Martinez's triumph was not helped by winning the "Serie A," the "Copa America" champion titles, and the top scorer title in these tournaments.
