Milan's "Inter" striker Lautaro Martinez rejoiced at the success of his compatriot Lionel Messi, who was awarded the "Golden Ball" for the eighth time yesterday.
However, according to the Argentine, the current sniper for Miami's "Inter" could have had significantly more awards.
"It's a shame that Lionel played in this era with Cristiano Ronaldo, otherwise, he would have had already 15 "Golden Balls" in his collection," L. Martinez clarified.
Since 2007, only a few footballers have managed to surpass both superstars in the awards: in 2007 - Kaka, in 2018 - Luka Modric, in 2022 - Karim Benzema.
